About Our Client
Our client is an established Australian business specialising in outsourced sales and business development solutions for organisations across professional services and other business to business sectors.
The company partners with clients to identify target markets, engage senior decision makers, qualify commercial opportunities and develop sustainable sales pipelines.
Following successful growth in Australia, the business is now expanding into the United Kingdom market.
This opportunity provides the chance to become one of the first dedicated team members supporting the expansion and contribute directly to establishing the company's United Kingdom operation.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Strategic Client Acquisition Manager to support the development of new business opportunities across the United Kingdom.
Working remotely from South Africa, you will focus on identifying prospective clients, establishing relationships with senior decision makers and progressing suitable opportunities through the sales process.
This is a proactive business development position requiring someone who is confident with outbound prospecting and enjoys creating opportunities from initial conversations.
The role combines cold calling, email and LinkedIn outreach with discovery meetings, commercial qualification and pipeline development.
Your working week will be divided between supporting an established client campaign and developing new business for the company's growing United Kingdom operation.
This is not a pure appointment setting role.
We are looking for someone who can confidently generate opportunities and progressively develop into an independent business development professional capable of managing the complete sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Established Client Campaign | Approximately 1 Day Per Week
You will spend approximately 1 day each week supporting an existing client campaign focused on generating qualified business opportunities within the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities include:
• Conduct targeted outbound prospecting into identified organisations.
• Cold call relevant senior decision makers and business contacts.
• Engage prospective customers through telephone calls, email and LinkedIn.
• Qualify prospects against agreed criteria and defined Ideal Customer Profiles.
• Establish rapport and identify genuine commercial opportunities.
• Arrange qualified meetings for the client's sales team.
• Maintain accurate prospect information, sales activities and opportunity records within the Customer Relationship Management system.
• Follow established campaign messaging, scripts and outreach strategies.
• Work closely with the Sales Operations team to maximise campaign performance.
• Achieve agreed activity, conversation and qualified opportunity targets.
Target lists, contact information, direct telephone numbers, systems, messaging, scripts and campaign training will be provided.
United Kingdom Business Development | Approximately 4 Days Per Week
The majority of your working week will focus on generating and developing new business opportunities for the company's United Kingdom operation.
Responsibilities include:
• Proactively identify and engage prospective clients within defined United Kingdom target markets.
• Generate new business conversations through cold calling, email and LinkedIn.
• Build relationships with senior decision makers and key stakeholders.
• Conduct initial discovery and qualification meetings.
• Develop a detailed understanding of prospective clients' businesses, challenges and commercial requirements.
• Evaluate potential opportunities to determine commercial suitability.
• Develop and progress qualified prospects through the business to business sales pipeline.
• Manage follow up activities and maintain consistent communication with prospective clients.
• Support proposals and participate in commercial discussions.
• Initially work alongside senior leadership during later stage sales meetings.
• Build and maintain a sustainable pipeline of new United Kingdom business opportunities.
• Progressively take ownership of the complete sales process from initial outreach through to successful conversion.
The long term objective is for the successful candidate to become confident independently originating, developing and converting suitable new business opportunities.
Sales Support and Infrastructure
The company provides an established sales infrastructure designed to support effective outbound prospecting and business development.
A dedicated Sales Operations team will provide:
• Defined Ideal Customer Profiles and target markets.
• Target account and prospect contact information.
• Direct telephone numbers and decision maker details.
• Customer Relationship Management support.
• Aircall.
• LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
• Email and supporting sales technology.
• Established messaging and sales scripts.
• Campaign and sales training.
• Ongoing operational assistance.
This structure is designed to reduce the time required for prospect research and manual list building, allowing you to focus on engaging prospective clients, developing relationships and progressing commercial opportunities.
Essential Requirements
• Strong experience in business to business outbound sales or new business development.
• Proven success generating opportunities through proactive prospecting.
• Excellent cold calling skills and confidence communicating with senior business decision makers.
• A genuine hunter mentality with the ability to create opportunities independently.
• Experience conducting discovery and qualification meetings.
• Experience developing and progressing prospects through a business to business sales pipeline.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Confidence engaging naturally and credibly with United Kingdom based decision makers.
• Strong commercial judgement and the ability to identify genuine business opportunities.
• Ability to work independently within a fully remote environment.
• Excellent organisational, follow up and pipeline management skills.
• Confidence using Customer Relationship Management systems and modern sales tools.
• A commercially focused and results driven approach.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with international colleagues and leadership teams.
• Ambition to develop into a self sufficient business development professional capable of managing the complete sales cycle.
Advantageous Experience
• Previous experience selling into the United Kingdom market.
• Experience working within an international sales environment.
• Familiarity with Aircall and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
• Experience managing opportunities through multiple stages of a sales cycle.
• Previous experience selling professional services, technology or other business to business solutions.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to consistently generate and develop genuine commercial opportunities.
Initially, performance will focus on outbound prospecting activity, meaningful conversations with decision makers, qualified meetings and the development of a healthy sales pipeline.
As you become established, expectations will progress towards independently managing discovery meetings, developing qualified opportunities, supporting proposals and participating in commercial discussions.
Ultimately, the successful candidate will be expected to independently identify, qualify, develop, manage and convert suitable new business opportunities.
Career Growth and Development
This position offers the opportunity to join an international business during the early stages of its United Kingdom expansion.
As the company secures additional United Kingdom clients, the intention is to expand the sales operation by introducing further Sales Development Representative resources.
For the right candidate, this creates potential progression into a more senior position involving increased responsibility for business development, client growth and potentially supporting or leading additional sales professionals.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable being actively involved in outbound sales today while demonstrating the ambition and capability to grow alongside the business.
If you are a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys generating new business, engaging senior decision makers and developing long term commercial relationships, we encourage you to apply.
